Sales people are motivated by recognition and reward. When properly inspired, they will rise to the occasion and exceed your expectations. Hold a 30 to 45-day Mystery Shop contest and reward the winner with a paid day off or a spa package. Create a theme and generate fun teasers each week to promote the contest through flyers, posters, e-mails, mailings and phone calls. Use the results of the reports to praise rather than to punish. Openly publish positive statements made by shoppers about each leasing consultant as the shops are received.
