Members, join a committee today! Member participation is vital to the growth of our industry, and DMAA committees are the perfect venue to meet with colleagues and help lead the organization. Legislative Committee
The DMAA has a very active local legislative program monitoring all cities residing in Lapeer, Macomb, Oakland, St. Clair and Wayne counties. We proactively scan for legislation that will adversely affect the apartment industry in the metro Detroit region. The Legislative Committee also fund-raises for the National Apartment Association Political Action Committee, and serves as a liason to the Property Management Association of Michigan's Legislative Committee; who works to further the goals of the industry statewide.
The Legislative Committee meets the fourth Thursday each month at 3:00pm via scheduled Zoom Conference.

Education Committee
The DMAA Education Committee works to create an education schedule that will be beneficial to the professional viability and success of our members. Members of the Education Committee research and develop educational courses and seminars, and volunteer time at educational events and seminars. The DMAA won the NAA Excellence Award (formerly Paragon Award) for Education in 2010.

Special Events/ Community Outreach Committee
The Special Events committee works to plan special event programs and community outreach events for the DMAA. Events include the Golf Outing, Designee Lunch, PRISM Awards and Holiday Party. The Committee members bring enthusiasm to events, volunteer their time to work special events, and reach and develop new ideas for events.

Membership & Engagement Committee
The Membership Committee works to retain current members, seek out new membership prospects, help bring new members into the Detroit Metropolitan Apartment Association, and oversee the Member Services Program. Members of this committee must be passionate about the association, supportive of its goals, and be fantastic salespeople!

Supplier Partner Council
The Supplier Partner Council serves the needs of the Supplier Partner members of the association. Members of the council suggest innovative ideas to increase business communication and sales among members. Council members are also responsible for our supplier code of ethics, as well as, generating new ideas for networking, lead generation and sharing.

Next Gen Committee
The Next Gen Committee focuses on preparing apartment professionals for DMAA volunteer leadership roles and career advancement. Launched in 2019, this committee is designed to identify, empower and inform successive waves of DMAA leaders.
